Upcoming Event Changes

Bill T Miller = Orgy Of Noise @ CyberArts 2009 - Willoughby and Baltic presents THE MAKER REVOLUTION

Since a number of Noise Night regulars are going to be heavily involved in the upcoming Boston Cyber Arts festival, we are going to be canceling the second meeting this month. Instead, we are going to be putting on a show at the Maker Revolution during Cyber Arts! (April 9th is still on as previously scheduled)

What does that mean exactly? Well, we are now looking for performers for that Saturday evening (April 25th). We are holding the event in the Microsoft Startup Labs in Kendell square, which is an amazing space. There are only a few slots taken, and times are not yet set, so people still have time to sign up. Both audio and video will be available for performers.

How do I sign up and participate? We are actually going to hold mini auditions at the next Noise Night next Thursday the 9th. On top of that, we are going to use the upcoming Noise Night to start having performances in general. There will be both 15 and 30 minute time slots, as to be able to get in as many performances as possible. 30 minute slots will be given only if there are enough 15 minute slots for those who want them. Basically, this will give you 15-30 minutes to show off what you do, and make music, talk, whatever. It will be your 15-30 minutes to do with what you wish.

Both audio and video tie-ins will be available, so bring your crazy video stuff to be projected. If you aren't sure if you will be able to perform, just mark down that you are interested, but not sure. You can also just show up to the event with your stuff, and slots will be allotted if available. I'm going to try and leave room at the end for a jam session. Being that this is the first time I've opened up the event to allotted performances, I'm not sure how many people are going to perform. Sign up, or just show up to find out with us! Soldering irons and tools will still be available for those who want to work on things.

In other big news, we are only going to hold two more Noise Nights after the April shows before going on break for the summer. May the 14th will be quite specifically a workshop oriented Noise Night. Bring in your things to work on, show off, or just to jam with. It will be closer to the events so far. May the 28th will be a full blown show! We are going to find a venue for it, and it will get it's own post when more information is available.
